Drumset notehead in a voice other than specified
As you can see, Voice 1 is selected, but the notehead remains green. These steps reproduce the problem:
- Create a drumset staff.
- Select eighth rest and enter rests. The rest value or number of rests in the measure doesn't matter.
- When you first begin to enter notes, you will be in Voice 1 (blue). Enter some notes in the manner outlined in the handbook.
- Now, while still in Voice 1, position the cursor directly under an already entered note and enter a note. The notehead changes color. You are now in Voice 2.
- Do you want Voice 1 again? Try and change to Voice 1. I've tried clicking the Voice 1 button, clicking the Note Input button to turn it off and on again. Notehead is still green, clicking Voice 1 has no effect.
I have a suggestion: I know you have to enter notes by double clicking the drumset staff, or by clicking it once and then clicking on the staff you're working on. What about if you dispense with all that and make note input the same as any other instrument? Only use the mouse wheel or some button on the keyboard to change noteheads while the note is still in focus. Thanks.

Pay attention to the color of the notes in the palette
The color of the note in the palette shows the voice allocated for that note—blue for voice 1, green for voice 2. This can be changed in the Edit Drumset dialog if required.

Thanks! I wish we could just do away with all that. Inputting a drum section is ten times harder and slower than for a regular instrument.

How so? It should be actually easier, because you don't need to select the voice or change the notehead - merely selecting the note icon selects the voice and notehead for you. Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to do, and how you are trying to do it? We can probably show you how to do it more efficiently.
