Just open the attached score and enable hide empty staves. Crashes right after that. Works every time.

I used the latest available binary I could find:
OS: openSUSE Leap 15.0, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 2.3.2, revision: 3543170

Hmm, works fine for me with 2.3.2 on Windows, as well as with a development build of 3.0. Can someone else on Linux verify? Also, can you try this on a development build of 3.0? Much has changed about layout, such that I wouldn't be at all surprised if any crash on Linux has fixed itself. 2.x will not receive more fixes, so if there is no crash for anyone else on 3.0, we might as well close this.
