How do you stop musescore instruments from sounding dead inside?

• Nov 20, 2018 - 08:21

As most of you have noticed, the musescore instruments sound ridiculously robotic yet, depressed. This will probably reduce my music grade so do you have suggestions on how expression can be added into the program. PLEASE HELP, I NEED ANSWERS NOW!!!!!!!!!

You can't beat real people playing real instruments for musical expression. MuseScore's strengths lie in laying out a score and not really in playback. My suggestion to help you improve your musical expression is to check out your study pieces being performed by a range of players on YouTube and then apply your findings using the advice from Marc Sabatella below ...

You can certainly help your cause by adding correct dynamics and articulations, most of which will playback. In fact, the built-in playback is at least as good as that of most other notation programs your fellow students and faculty use, so it's highly unlikely your music will seem worse in comparison and affect your grade.

That said, you can also install different soundfonts and see if others meet your liking better. Click Download above, then Soundfonts.
