Playback each voice separately

• Nov 21, 2018 - 23:46

Is it possible to listen to each voice being played back? I have a piece of music that is written for two voices, tenor and bass and I would like to play the music and hear only the tenor part or only the bass part. Is that possible? I have looked but I can find anything.

If they are on separate staves, then View / Mixer allows you to solo & mute tracks. If on the same staff, then Ctrl+A to select all, use View / Selection Filter to exclude one voice from the selection, then use the Inspector (View / Inspector if it isn't already open) to disable the "Play" property from the remaining voice, thus muting it.

The voices are on the same staff so I did Ctrl+A and then in the Selection Filter I unchecked everything but Voice 2 and I opened the Inspector but I don't see a Play option. The only things that appear in the Inspector are Set Color, Set Visible, and Set Invisible buttons under the Element Group.

I know this is an old topic. I have a score with 2 voices (1 & 2).

I selected voice 1, deselected voices 2,3,4

After opening the inspector window, I clicked the "Notes" button and tried many options, none of the options will play just voice 2 (it plays both voices). What did I do wrong? What do I need to click.
