Lyrics problem

Hello
I am trying to write lyrics in Spanish and my word is, say, nueve. I have 3 eighth notes (quavers) in succession, for example C, D and E. At first I wrote nu-e-ve but my Spanish friend told me that the correct hyphenation is nue-ve. Well, I tried to write nue_-ve, but as soon as I wrote the hyphen (-), the already written underscore (_) disappears. How can this be done so that both of these stays at place? Thanks in advance.

To get the normal notation type nue--ve this will put a - under the second of the two notes you should have slurred in the score. This is used in the middle of a word rather than a melisma (underscore). If you want to do it in the unconventional manner you can type nue ctrl+_ - ve (no spaces) to get what you are asking for.

[EDIT: I just realized Jojo said the same thing, but maybe seeing it again in different words will be helpful too]

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but it seems to me you should not be trying to use an underscore here at all. They are only appropriate at the end of a word. If a single syllable that is not at the end of a word extended over multiple notes, simply enter multiple hyphens.

Hello once more
I found a solution for my original question. At first, I selected the two notes and then chose Add > Lines > Note Anchored Line. Then I can drag it to the right place and after double-clicking, adjust its length and angle.
