Tied notes don't play the tied value.
In my case, I have a trombone playing a dotted half note C with a quarter note tied, but the tied quarter note doesn't seem to play.

You will need to attach your actual score, I've never seen ties not playback.
Playback can't really be critical... And I suspect you used slurs rather then ties, but without a sample score we can't tell
