Just lost about 40 meaures of a marching band show due to bug where the program constantly closes for EVERYTHING. Even with saving, it says something went wrong and opens a past version. Definitely a big problem.

If you saved it, then simply open the version you actually saved - not the autosave version - and you'll have everything you last saved.
