"Annoying aspect of Musescore 3: Every time I open a new musescore file, irregular measures are marked despite me disabling irregular measure view in the checkbox under the "view" options on the toolbar. Is it possible to keep this disabled as a default, and if not, please make it an option."

I guess that preference setting just doesn't get written to disk at all
Actually no, mark-irregular is a per-score setting, just like the others, show-invisible, show-unprintable, show-frames and show-pageborders
I'll target the user to this thread.
