Space not optimized when hiding instruments
hi,
The attached score is a significant reduction of my real score, but the problem remains. I have a score with several hidden empty measures, and hidden instruments for backing up purposes. When hiding everything that is supposed to be hidden, MS seems to not use the available space on the page, and the score becomes several pages long.
Appreciate any help.

You have page breaks, which means you've told MuseScore to start a new page. Remove those and you should be happier.

That said, you'll find the invisible instruments do still affect layout, unfortunately. A workaround is to generate a part containing only the visible staves. Meanwhile, I have a fix pending that hopefully will be in the next update.
