Suggesting to be able to edit the stave properties after instrument is changed

Suppose you write a piccolo stave and you want to change it to "Flute 3" halfway through. You attach a "Change instrument" text and set it to flute, but the short instrument name which comes after it is always "Fl.", and you cannot change it to "Fl. 3". Click "Fl." and open "Stave Properties", you find out it still displays the properties of piccolo.
So I suggest that maybe you can let the "Stave Properties" form always display the properties of the CURRENT instrument, not the FIRST instrument? I don't know if it's hard to encode technically, just a suggestion. But it can be super helpful.
