Open the attached file and take the reset. Click on any hairpin and read the "Minimum distance" in the Inspector.
Although this appears in the Inspector there is no equivalent property in Format > Style > Hairpins. If you drag the hairpin, the "Minimum distance" in the Inspector may change. If the user subsequently presses "Reset to style default" how is s/he to know what value it is being reset to?

Yes, not just hairpins, but around a dozen other types had minimum distance settings added for 3.1. We haven't decided whether to add them individually to the pages for each element type, or perhaps add a new Automatic Placement page and moved all related settings there. Thoughts?
Meanwhile, the Inspector works normally for both reset and set to style, so you still have control over the values (and if you want to see the default, you can always add a new hairpin).
that field in Inspector is lacking a unit (AKA suffix), I guess it is measured in 'sp' right?
