I am a new user so if there is something I say that seems ignorant, it is because I am.

For my project, the preferred view was Continuous. However, without intelligent vertical spacing, it hardly seemed to be worth the trouble when I thought I could get a close approximation using Page view with a page with equal to the 13" width of my screen.

Initially, I switched from the default letter size 'paper' in portrait orientation to landscape orientation. That seemed to work well so I manually increased the page width to 13". The results were just what I wanted except that I noticed in measures 22, 49, 59, and 118 of the attached file that there were double displays of the time/key signature changes. Changing the page width back to 11" caused the problem to disappear and again changing it to 13" caused it to reappear.

I tried deleting and reinserting the double displays with the following results. Attempting to delete the left instance resulted in no change. Deleting the right instance deleted both instances. Reinserting the change from the palette resulted again in a double display.

Looking at the measures in question with the page width at 11", I noticed that they all contained key/time signature changes that happened at the 11" page boundary. Full disclosure, that same condition exists at measures 74 and 104 yet those measures do not have double displays, perhaps because of some other conditions.

Thinking that the 11" value was related to the letter paper size, I changed the paper size to "Fan-fold German Legal" which is 13" x 8.5" in landscape orientation. Doing that did nothing to remove the double displays. Perhaps the 11" value is hard-wired in or comes from somewhere with which I am not familiar.

We know of cases where this can happen, and your observation that it happens at places where there was formerly a line break is correct. We think we've fixed the underlying causes of this for 3.1, but you'll still need to fix this score. Do so by going to Format / Style / Page, disabling courtesy signatures, saving, reloading, then turning courtesy signatures back on.

If you find the problem returns using 3.1, please update us and let us know more about the steps. But for now, we think this is fixed.
