See the attached score, measure 1. Where there is only voice, "Fingering" numbers are virtually colliding with grace note stems when they appear above the staff.

"Virtually", but not quite - and if you nudge it even a tiny bit right, you'll see it pop up to avoid the collision. But yeah, we need to come up with some better rules for fingering on grace notes (or really, any small note with stem pointing in the "wrong" direction).

The thing we usually would do for elements attached to small notes is to scale them to also be small, which would fix this - but I'm thinking that probably doesn't make sense for fingering? So instead we could apply a horizontal offset to avoid the stem? Or are there particular things you typically see for fingering on grace notes?
