As with the Master Palette (via 'Z') and the "All Symbols" section, there is a search box to find whatever the user desires. There ought to be something quite if not exactly similar found in the Special Character window (Accessed via F2 or pressing the alpha box on the bottom left corner) when inserting text in e.g. a staff-text.

Oh. P.S. there's a slight work-around right now:
If the user opens the Master Palette first before starting a Staff Text (or whatever kind of text), then starts a new text, the user can go to "All Symbols" area and use it to insert a symbol into the text, and there is also working search functionality allowed. If the user starts a staff-text first, the Master Palette won't open up anymore. Most aren't accessible to be placed in text unless using the "All Symbols" section.

On the side: there's something to be wary about here: Moving the cursor or scrolling while in All Symbols in the Master palette is extremely slow ... but everywhere else isn't. This is another issue altogether, but ought to be looked into. . .
