Not sure if this is considered an "issue" or bug, but I just think this may be a nice touch to add in UI design.

When you open a mscz file from a location (let's say C:\song1\ ), you change something and you go to File > Save As..., the save dialog box opens with default location shown as C:\song1\ . This seems sensible and nothing is wrong with that.

Now, I repeat the above but this time I import a mxl file from another location (let's say C:\song2\ ). When I go to File > Save As..., the save dialog box opens with default location shown as C:\song1\ (the previously used location for saving). I just feel that it would be a nice touch to switch the default saving to C:\song2\ .

Do I understand you correctly that this issue only occurs for scores that have been imported from another file format? If so, then as the one who provided the fix for #274965: "Save As" should work as it works in every other program., I think I know why this is. When a score is imported from another file format, a brand new score is created, and it does not exist in the filesystem until it is saved. Since the file does not exist, MuseScore takes you to the directory where you last saved a score. I agree that it would be good if MuseScore took you to the directory from which the score was imported. I just had not thought about that at the time.
