When composing in the Grand Staff, I can't reproduce different dynamics for each staff during playback. For example, if I want a quiet accompaniment, I will click on a bass note, and add a p or mp dynamic. I will then click on a treble note and add mf or f. When I hit playback, the computer plays all the notes at the most quiet dynamic I've listed. This didn't use to be a problem (a couple of months ago it worked okay).

You can select a dynamic, open the inspector with F8 and change the Dynamic range setting to staff so it only affects the staff. You must do this on both staves or you will get poor results.
Dynamics by default apply to the instrument (so for Piano to both staves), but can get changed to apply to just one staff or the entire system
