For text elements and noteheads, for example, it is possible to enter Edit mode by clicking on an element that is already selected (and highlighted in blue). However, this does not seem to have been fully implemented for all applicable elements.

It doesn't work on the following elements: Rests, Accidentals, Articulation and Ornaments; and perhaps others need to be considered?

Title Single- + single-click editing needs to be fully implemented? Clicking on an already selected element to enter edit mode needs to be fully implemented

Can you explain the perceived bug in more detail? Is there some documentation that leads you to believe a single-click of an element is supposed to put you in edit mode in some circumstances? It's true that text is handled specially, it's not necessarily a bug that this feature is not implemented for other elements.

Otherwise, we could certainly change this to a Suggestion for a new feature.

Oops, it's not implemented for noteheads either. Actually, the current set-up makes sense now. Single-click editing for slurs, lines, hairpins; double-click for everything else.
