If I'm not wrong, the way MS works, dynamics attach to notes. It would be useful to make them attach to rhythms, that way, one could, for example, write a crescendo and diminuendo hairpin in the same note.

Workaround: make two tied notes and assign a hairpin to each one, make the notes invisible, change voice, write a note with the combined value of the other two.

Title Make dynamics attach to rhythm and not to notes Allow hairpins to start and end on any beat

Actually, the hairpin isn't truly attached to the note, it's attached to the "segment", which is to say, the position in time. But there is currently no way to actually attach the hairpin if there is no note or rest at that time position.

I suspect there is an existing issue for this as it's a common request, but I couldn't find one. I also know this is the sort of thing being looked at for MuseScore 4.

Regarding the workaround - better to enter rests in another voice rather than notes, then playback isn't adversely affected.
