8 bars of chord changes/slashes per line?
I am trying to make one section of a score have 8 bars per line - ONLY that section. It is chord changes over slashes and I would like to make it 8 bars per line. I have tried "Add System Breaks" every 8 bars, but it gives me 7 in the first line and one in the second!
I have also tried making the measures narrower in Style, but that makes the rest of the score look crowded.
Is there really no way to make 8 bars per line of chord changes? I would think that would be an incredibly common request....

Add system breaks every 8 measures, that at least takes care that there are not more than 8.
To have not less they need to fit the page width, given all the current settings and stretch

Thanks for the reply! But I already tried "Add system breaks every 8" - it gives me 7 in the first line, and 1 in the 2nd line! Can you advise me, what setting could I change in Style that would allow this, but not make the rest of the score look too crowded?

Have you tried selecting those 8 bars and then reducing their stretch?

Hi, it is letter "C" in this score. It will not format to 8 bars per line. In particular it is the first line of letter C that won't format to 8, I guess because of the key signature.

Like this? Using a slightly smaller value for Space and also using reduce stretch
And explicit system breaks throughout the entire score

Yeah that's great! I could get it to do that, but then it would pop back to what I showed you within a minute or two (strange as that sounds. I guess when it auto-saved...). It wouldn't stay in that format.
Can you tell me what you adjusted to do that?

I did, futher up.
To prevent those jumps I had reduced Format > Page settings > Scale > Space, from 1.720 mm to 1.664 mm
