Musescore 3 keeps crashing

• Jul 24, 2020 - 02:44

I have looked up multiple posts reporting this issue, and tried all the methods suggested, including:
*open from mac terminal
*double click score to open
*uninstall and reinstall

Given that there have been many reports on this, and based on what I saw, most of the posters didn't get their problem resolved, I wonder if the dev team has any plan to fix this.
Technically, I don't think any score should to able to crash the application. If it does, it's only saying that Musescore 3 is buggy and not robust enough.

I'm reverting back to Musescore 2 and retyping my entire score. I hope this buy can be resolved soon.

This issue was reported a few time from other user last days. At least for one of these user it worked as mentioned by using 3.5rc.

Unfortunately it's not working for me. I'd finished a complete orchestral score with no problems. I'd been working on a new one for a few weeks. Today I began experiencing continual crashes, just playing the file that worked flawlessly yesterday. So I'm not sure what changed between yesterday and today. I tried resetting the preferences and installing 3.5rc, but no luck. I've attached the MuseScore file; maybe there's something wrong with the file itself.

" Today I began experiencing continual crashes, just playing the file that worked flawlessly yesterday."

Indeed, this score hangs and ends up looping/crashes around mid-score more or less. This was due to a bunch of unexpected ties in the Violas instrument (antepenultimate instrument) measures 71-72 - image below.

One was no longer in the right place, or had been reduced, and another one was double (I don't know how you did this exactly). In short, by deleting them, and putting them back correctly, the playback/score works again.
