Crescendo marks are nullifying the dynamics. That is, the first dynamic is played but subsequent ones are ignored – even after the crescendo has ended, playback uses the the first dynamic of the crescendo and not the last. However, if I remove the crescendo marks then everything plays back as it should.

Score got last saved with 3.5, so not a 3.4 issue I guess?
I can confirm this issue though.
But also with 3.4.1, so not a regression

Ah, sorry – I forgot I'd upgraded it recently. Crescendos were working fine for me before, though; maybe I was using 3.4.1 for too brief a time to notice?
This issue is a bit of a problem for me because I rely heavily on Musescore's playback. Is there a way to download 3.4 again? (The only previous version I can find on your website is 2.3.2: https://musescore.org/en/download#older-versions)
See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases and #309000: Download link to older versions of MuseScore for Linux (3.0.0 to 3.6.2) is missing

Thank you! (That was quick!) :-)

In an additional post, OP says: ' Crescendos were working fine for me before, though'
So still a regression (even if not a 3.5 one) ?
Against which version?
It was an issue with 3.4.1 already for sure
Probably an issue only with the expressive sound samples and since single note dynamics got implemented in 3.1
