Swing not working?

The swing playback doesn't seem to be working. It sounds straight to me.

  1. Click on the note where you want swing to start;
  2. Click Swing in the Text palette.

I tried varying the Swing ratio in the Swing Settings tab, but that doesn't make a difference. I also tried adding a "Straight" text marking, and nothing changes

quarter notes are not swung
And a Swing rate of 50% won't swing those either...
