Rit., A Tempo Marks
Hi, Gang!!!
I use MuseScore 3.4.2 Portable AppImage into Ubuntu Studio 20.04.1 LTS (64 bits Linux).
I wonder if I missed something, here, but...
Is there a way to put in the score a TEMPO mark without a real speed indication? ???
I mean when we want to put the typical "RIT..." and "A TEMPO" marks.
Today, I use the "SYSTEM TEXT MARKS", but... It has another characters format and, to me, this is "ugly". Please, see the attached file.
So, I would want to get the capability to put an standard tempo mark without any real time indication (not speed variation, just the text with the same characters of the other tempo marks).
Is there a way to get this?
Blessings and Greetings from CHILE!!!

I'm not a pro here, but I usually make the text bold and change its font size into 12, to match the other tempo markings. To do this you can just click on the text and change the things in the Inspector.
You can use system text select it and change the style to Tempo in the inspector.
I use system- or staff text for rit. and accel. and change their style to Expression, so it turns italic. If they come with a span, you can also (mis)use a (de)crescendo line, maybe.
For a tempo I use a tempo text and change it's content (from quarter note = 80) and BPM, so it really does change the rempo.
Thanks a lot to all of you!!!
I "catched" the central idea about how to fix this issue (change the format manually).
But... Wouldn't be fine to have an specific tempo mark, inside the Tempo panel, to this? ???

a Tempo is a bit vague in its meaning from score to score. The overall tempo management could use some improvement though like allowing native support of rit. and accel.

Not vague at all, just use the tempo from before the last accel/rit.

I've seen things like
rit. - - - - string. - - - - a tempo
Is a tempo the tempo before or after the rit.? The answer is a bit vague and subject to interpretation. In the context of the music it will probably be obvious to an experienced musician but that's really getting into a complex area of AI.

It is back to the last explicit tempo

Not at all, as Jojo says. I do agree that predefined “rit.” and “accel.” text with dashed lines would be useful. This omission in Musescore and Lilypond always makes me scratch my head. They’re very common and needed musical expressions.

rit. and accel. with proper playback is possible via https://musescore.org/en/project/tempochanges
Would be great to have this being supported natively though

Feel free to add this to your palettes
There won't be proper playback though
