1- Have a score with some chords
2- Copy some other chords from a different part of the score or another score
3- Paste the copied chords
3- You have both the old and new chords, and things gets messy
So as the title suggest pasting copied chords should replace existing ones

Are you using 3.5? Chords should already replace existing ones where they overlap, if you are copying the whole range. Where they don't overlap, the old ones are ket. This is by design according to user requests. if you are copying just the chords and not the whole range, they are added as alternates, again by design.

If you have an example score where it appears to not work as designed, please attach it and give precise steps to reproduce the problem. If you'd like to discuss alternate designs, best to start a discussion in the Development forum.

Yes I am Using 3.5
And I am talking about copying the chords Only, not the whole range, Actually it works as designed, I will start a discussion about alternate design in the referred forum.

Btw I know this not to right place to say this but i will say it anyways, your "Jazz Improvisation Primer" was a huge source of inspiration/information 20 years ago when i was starting to learn about jazz
