Open the attached file. Observe the alignment of rehearsal marks to barlines (in this case the align is set to LEFT).

Expected result: All marks aligned to the same (rightmost) line?
Actual result: For Single / Double / End repeat barlines: Text is aligned to the rightmost line; For Start / End-start repeat barlines: Text is aligned to the thickest line.

There has been quite a bit of refinement to rehearsal mark positioning over the years due to users suggestions. The current system is undoubtedly not perfect but was the best compromise that could be found from the various different suggestions made. With the push for improved defaults in 3.6 and 4.0, it could be time to revisit this. Best to start a forum discussion to get further input.
