OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.0.13199, revision: 43c5553

  1. Open the attached score. Page 1 consists of alternating systems and text frames. Note the even vertical spacing throughout.
  2. Delete "Frame 4", for example.

Expected result: The remaining systems and frames assume a new configuration with even vertical spacing.
Actual result: A large gap opens up where the deleted frame used to be.

This happens bewcause you told MuseScore to allow as much as 22sp as max system distance. Reduce this to a more reasonable value and you get more reasonable results.

That said, as a future enhancement, it would be nice if the max system distance could optionally be allowed to apply to space between systems and frames as well as just space between systems. Currently, the frame gaps set these distance more or less absolutely. So there is definitely room for improvement and more flexibility, even if the example at hand is actually by design.
