Right now, there isn't any difference in timbre between an instrument with no harmonic symbol and an instrument that has it. I think it'd be a nice feature to have, and even more in the next big version, if it's planned to have integration with NotePerformer.
Comments
The timbre of the playback is determined by the sound font. If NotePerformer provides the sound, there's no reason you won't be able to hear it in version 4. I'll leave this open because I think including Harmonics sounds for all instruments that are bowed and plucked that normally play harmonics should have the sound included in MuseScore's sound font.
