I copied the troubled measure from the score where it was first detected and replicated the issueby pasting into a new score, attached.

The file provenance was MusicXML. I'm finding many issues with MusicXML transport, so that may be the root of any file corruption.

This crash has nothing to do with note duration changes. It crashes simply because the part is corrupted (the equivalent measure 4 in the part is empty, 0/1).
So I change the title by specifying the steps (+GIF) that lead to this kind of problem in this comment: https://musescore.org/en/node/313038#comment-1039809
I add also the test file after step #3: test file.mscz
I mark it as a regression, since a similar use case does not lead to a corruption in the parts with version 2.3.2, e.g.
