3.x branch on my local Linux machine no longer has sound playback when inserting notes or traversing a score. Don't want to guess, but if I had to, and since 3.5.2 and below have no related issues , maybe it has something to do with the reverb code changes? Playing the score itself produces sound.
Unless this is intended for some reason, seems to be of severity type: major .

Try reverting to factory settings, IIRC I had to do that too, about a week ago or two.

Although read about often, I never had to do such a thing in the past. This time it fixed the issue, so a resolve or even a delete is okay by me unless this might help someone else in searching for something similar.
This is happening at times during development, some incompatible change in preferences for example. Downside of being at the bleeding edge ;-)
