During play back system completely crashes, without fail, on entry into the second ending which is measure 89 beat 1. I have gone so far as a cold boot of the system, yet the crash continues. If I start playback at beat 1, measure 89 and continue it works fine, as does all other functions I've tried (note entry, adding chord symbols, zooming in and out, etc)

You have two volta 2 on that measure. Select it and press delete and you'll see it's still there. This will be fixed in 3.6.
Thank you, Mike320. I removed the second volta and it works like a charm.
The bad playback will be fixed in 3.6 (see #311986: Duplicate volta causes later repeats to play wrong), but having a crash due to a duplicate volta is yet unheard of. Unless it is #289643: Crash when launching playback in presence of unexpected voltas which was fixed for 3.5 already? That score has been last saved with 3.5.2 though.
It doesn't crash for me and that one duplicate 2nd volta doesn't have any negative impact on the playback, so I don't see any problem at all?
Crash not reproducible in 3.6.2; assuming one of the other fixes handled this case as well.
