I updated MS to 3.6 on MacOS 10.15.7. Worked without problems. However, when starting MS large amount of popups are "popping"up asking me whether to change to new font or new style (see screenshots below). None of the popup-dialogs are responsive. Neither can I stop MS cause this functionallity is greyed out (see screenshot). Basically I need to kill MS via OS means.

When you say "responsive", I guess you mean, clicking the "Keep old style" button doesn't close it My guess is there is one dialog that is blocking the others and yuo'd need to find it. But, does Esc not close them one by one?
I assume also you have MuseScore set to start by continuing your last session, and you had many scores open. Workaround would be to start MuseScore by double-clicking one of those scores in your file manager, so only that score opened.

Unresponsive in such a way that I could only set focus on one of the dialogs and not much else, not even quit MS. Eventually, as written, I used "Force Quit" to kill MS.
Then one second start, only one (responsive) dialog popped up although still many scores were open.
I did not try "ESC" to close a pop-up (have not been aware of that). My workaround is "kill and restart".
