In Continuous view, the blue Instrument bar to the left will often block the active note or "cursor". This will happen if one navigates with the arrow keys (back) to the beginning of the score or to some point before the currently visible part of the score.
Comments
I've realized that it's blue for me because of a leftover setting from a previous version. What I mean by "the blue bar" is the strip to the left with key signature, clef, etc. - just to clarify.

That explains the blue colour, but the fact still remains, that the active note is still sometimes hidden by the "placeholder bar".
As for a screenshot, it is a little bit difficult to screenshot something that is hidden. But just to try to clarify: the first shot shows the score in the starting position:
In the second, I have navigated all the way to the right, then back towards the beginning again:
And in the third, I have gone to the beginning of the measure.
The viewport does not follow, and the active note remains hidden.
I should also say that this happens on realtively small screens/windows. I'm on a laptop, with the window filling half the screen. With a bigger main window, the problem usually doesn't appear.
