when piano songs are played, several measures, in the sound becomes distorted and the playback hesitates, but continues on and sometimes the sound will clear, only to recur. in the uploaded piece the problem occurs in the 3rd-4th measure.

Hardware is a Macbook Retina early 2015
OS is BigSur 11.1

I don't hear a problem on my system. Are you using any non-default soundfonts? Be sure you have plenty of available and that nothing else is hogging the CPU. Best to ask for help on the forums diagnosing system administration issues as they affect playback.
