This is going to be a little convoluted, so fair warning.

There's been a cycle of crashes with my Musescore program, and I have no idea what could be the main source of all of it. I have, however, noticed a pattern:

-First, Musescore will randomly crash immediately upon startup, presumably when loading a score (despite my preferences telling it to "start empty" with no start center). This happens randomly, and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. However, it always seems to happen within a few startups, usually within a week of the last one.

-When this happens, I then run Musescore with factory settings, and then one of the following three things happens, seemingly randomly:
-The start center crashes and I have to try factory settings again.
-The software opens just fine, but as soon as I try to change to the advanced palette, it crashes.
-Either the software runs fine without any problems or I don't attempt to use the advanced palette.

-Once I get through to using Musescore normally, the cycle repeats itself whenever it decides to crash again.

Additionally, Musescore always crashes after I minimize the software and bring it back up. This doesn't ever seem to have a bearing on the "crash cycle," but it prevents me from ever minimizing the program.

Sounds like some sort of conflict with another program running on your system, which would explain the sporadic nature of it. The fact that the crashes seem related to the start center makes me suspect it relates specifically to the web engine process, and that it could be a web browser or similar program causing the conflict.

Probably best to ask for help on the Support forum where there are many people with sysadmin experience who might be able to help diagnose this. Be sure to say what PS you are on. But also, it never hurts to reboot, and in this particular case, based on what we know about the web engine process, also then uninstall reinstall. On Windows in particular the "Repair" option in the installer might be useful.
