Stretch measure keyboard shortcut function is not working, version 3.6.0 Mac OS Big Sur

• May 24, 2021 - 07:24

I tried also editing in preferences, to put in a new keyboard shortcut, is absolutely not working. Is very hampering for the workflow and very slow to have to go dozens of time to the submenu to Format/Stretch/Increase/Decrease Layout Stretch 🙏 hope this can be fixed, or maybe I've done something wrong?

EDIT: Managed to get it working with more complicated key combination, created cmd+option+shift+c/v

What is your keyboard type? Azerty, Qwerty, other?
It's a known problem e.g. with AZERTY keyboard.
Normally, you just have to redefine (according to your choice) the shortcut for this function in Edit/Preferences/Shortcuts.
And, for advice, upgrade to 3.6.2 (instead of 3.6 which has a major issue when launching playback in Continuous View - with repeats in the score)

Thank you so much 😊🙏 I think I have QWERTY keyboard, am on MacBook Pro 2017 touchbar. I devised a rather complicated combination, keyboard language independent using the c and v keys as described above, and it finally worked. Yes, will upgrade 😊🙏 thank you so much, once again!

But also, you might want to describe your workflow in more detail - it would be highly unusual to need to use stretch commands dozens of times. I've seen cases where people are doing this because they don't realize they can use system breaks, a global spacing setting in Format / Style / Measure, or apply stretch to ranges, to achieve what they are trying to do much more easily.

Ah, thank you so much, will check this out! 😊🙏 The normal stretch function has given quite beautiful organic spacing, and sometimes need to repeat the same command to get the desired spacing, but I will definitely check out the other functions that you have described, will look at tutorials as well, am still learning 😊 Very thankful for this forum 😊🙏
