Not with me. I just open MuseScore 0.9.5 on windows vista.
In the demo score I added a new staff for Picolo and copy the first staff to the picolo staff without problems or crash.
Can you give more details? Is there anything special in the data you copy paste? Can you give a score to reproduce?
It's a long score.
I control-shift-end to select then control-C to copy. Select another staff, select the first measure and paste.
I do play around transposing notes a lot. I'll see if I can get it to do it in a minimal situtation. I'm running XP.
