Trombone and Tuba Balance Issues
I've been using the Musescore notation software for quite some time now and I've noticed that one issue that seems to be overlooked in every update is that the MIDI file for the trombone is consistently way too loud and the MIDI file for the tuba is consistently way too quiet. What happens is, if I have an ensemble (even a full orchestra or band) where every instrument is playing at the same dynamic, the tuba is very hard to hear (even though it's the bass voice and should usually be slightly louder than everything else) and the trombone sticks out like a sore thumb. This doesn't change at all when any instruments change in range, and for the most part everything else stays relatively balanced other than the trombone which is consistently WAY too loud.
I understand that being able to manually change the volume of each instrument is a Pro feature and that is something I could do to fix this, but I feel like the default version of the software should have a much better natural balance than this.

Changing the volume of each instrument is not a Pro feature. Not at all!
The musescore.org website and the MuseScore Editor don't have any Pro feature, all features are included and at no cost.
Only the musescore.com website and the mobile apps for Android and iOS do have Pro features.
Just use the Mixer.

Huh, they must have changed that at some point because I could've sworn that it used to be a Pro feature. Or maybe I'm mistaking Musescore for Flat or some other music-making website.
EIther way, thanks!

No, that hasn't changed, ever, and will never change. MuseScore is OpenSource and free aand was all times and will be all times.
musescore.com and flat (?) is something different though

I think the mixer on the mobile app and/or score-sharing website musescore.com may be or have at one time been Pro only. But indeed, not MuseScore itself,. it has never ever had features that were not free.
