Musecore in Andoid Emulator Problem

• Feb 26, 2022 - 11:22

Hi, I want to run MuseScore for Android in Android Emulator, because the windows version is so limited (i.e can't zoom, can't transpose). I have tried BlueStacks and MemuPlay for Windows 10. However for some notation I always receive the following error :

Unfortunately this score is not available
Your device hasn't been verified by Google Play. You need to install the official version of Android OS (without root access).

Is there any solution for this issue ?

"Windows version can't zoom" ???? - Oh yes it can! See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/viewing-and-navigation#zoom

The Android app and the Windows version a.k.a notation editor are different things. The Android app gives limited ability to view play and transpose scores. And those scores are created using the Windows (or MAC or Linux) notation editing program which is dealt with in this forum. The notation editor can do much much more than the Android app. Even if you get the Android version running on Windows it will still have that same limited function.

The Android app is dealt with here - see https://musescore.com/groups/musescore-android.

Hi Steve, thank you for your reply,

I am sorry, I was wrong, I was referring to the web version (not the windows app version). Now I know that the web version can be zoomed, but I still don't know how to transpose. If I click the transpose button, it says that transpose function is available on the android/ios version.

The windows version is very powerful, but how to use it to open a song from musescore.org , like this one : https://musescore.com/user/48486/scores/66615 ?

To open the score you must first download it to your pc.

You will also need to install the MuseScore editor which can be downloaded from here https://musescore.org/en/download. But first I suggest you take a look at the handbook which gives detailed installation instructions and also tips on getting started. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook

Once you have the program installed you can click on the score you downloaded and it should open in the editor. Then the fun starts!

Hi Steve, thanks again for replying.

After I play around for sometime with the MuseScore for windows and MuseScore web, now I know that I can download the score from the web and open it in MuseScore app for Windows.

Wow it's a great piece of software ! I will have a lot of fun with it !
