Stopping after 8 measure per line
OK I have been watching videos and looking at some of the courses and have not found my answer yet. If I only want 8 measures per line how do I go about setting that up? Does a certain type of barline at the end of 8 measures tell the next 8 measure to start on the next line/row and not continue on the same line?
Right now I have just one line or row if you will, I do not want any more measures to carry on in the first line/row, but when I go to insert or add more measures at the top and say 8 more it puts 4 more on the same line/row and 4 more on the next line/row down I do not want that, the first 8 measures are enough I want the next 8 below on the 2nd line/row and so on. So how do we tell this sheet music we only want 8 measures per line/row. In some people's scores they may want 6 or 9 etc measures per line/row and so on.

Add system breaks

Well I added a system break according to how to do it as far as I can tell, after I supposedly added it I then went back to the top to add 8 more measures hoping the next 8 would start on the next line/row down but it did not work... 4 more measures continued on the first line/row and another 4 measures then went to the next line/row down So what gives? Is there some kind of a symbol at the end of the 8th measure that shows a system break and thus will start the next 8 measures on the next line/row.

System Breaks are visible if you have "show unprintable" active in the view menu (it is checked by default).
A break is linked to a particular barline, so if you insert measures before/after the break will remain on the measure it was initially applied to.
You can of course always re-apply breaks as required.

So far nothing seems to be working, unless as usual I am doing something wrong, I guess I am giving the section break as instructed but then when I go to add 8 more measures to the next line/row it always starts 4 more on the same line/row then 4 more below that. I am just not sure what is going on. OK I have include a standard 8 measures now can anybody show me where to click to start the section break, then show me where to click to add 8 more measures that will start on the next row/line down?

Use append measures instead of insert

OK Append seemed to work, thank you. Never know I might have more problems in the future.

Well I thought that would solved my problem but I guess because of the section break in there that puts at least 2 to maybe 4 seconds of extra pause before it goes to the next row/line down. I don't want that. I want my standard quarter rest after the last note at the end of the top row/line then move on to the next row/line.

Then you perhaps want a system break instead? (as was advised in the earlier replies) Terminology can be confusing

Indeed, you want a system break p the kind you get by simply pressing Enter - not a section break.
Also, in the future, we can assist much better if you attach your actual score (not just pictures) with your questions.

OK allot of time my questions revolved around stuff that I am just beginning to create so there is no actual score per say. Thank you so much.
