Play button grayed out when not playing/space bar doesn't make score play and no sound when clicking on notes

a couple days ago my musescore play button turned gray and I could not play any score that I had. I checked the soundfont folder to see if that was the issue and there was no soundfont there. I put one back in there to see if it would work but it did not and nothing will play
