Panning drumset to right - silence?
I often pan instruments to left or right using MuseScore to give a more spacious sound in a mix. However, when I added a drumset part, and panned to the right, the drums became inaudible. They reappeared when panned to the left.
Is that expected behaviour?

I can't replicate this. Perhaps post a part of a score that does this for you.
Works as expected for me using the default soundfonts in MuseScore 3.6.2 and a current nightly build of MuseScore 4, and adding a "Drumset" instrument with snare drum notes. Are you perhaps using a non-default soundfont? If so, the issue may lie there. If not, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Thanks to the two of you who responded. What seemed a very clear effect this morning now seems to have largely disappeared. I don't know how that would have happened. I can't categorically say that now the left and right drum channels sound the same, but they are much closer in sound and level than they were this morning.

Could be your headphones / speakers simply weren't plugged in all the way, causing the right channel to drop out. Not so likely if they were internal speakers, of course, but intermittent failures due to bad wired connections can happen.
