The new update is incredibly laggy. I can't do anything in it without it freezing. I dont have anything else running on my computer, and MuseScore 3, which takes up more space, works just fine so I know it's not a space issue.

In order for anyone to investigate, we'd need more info on your system - OS, CPU, RAM, etc. Also your audio device. In general, MuseScore 4 shouldn't be noticeably laggier than 3.

I am having the same issue, PC specs are Ryzen 5 5600G, RTX 3060Ti, 32 GB RAM @3200, Windows 11 Pro. It is outputting to my default audio device which is my headphones. Anytime I click on a note to edit it is very very laggy.
I am just going to add to this, because I am having similar issues. While the Playback is actually acceptable for me, inputting notes and especially changing their pitch is extremely laggy. I'm running on Win 10 Home with an i7-8700, 16 GB of RAM, GTX 1660ti, the problem is 100% the CPU usage which shoots up to 100% when inputting notes, I also checked RAM usage which seems completely adequate for what's going on.
