Hi I just tried it now with version 4.
I created a score with Musescore4 and then i quitted Musescore.
I copied that into Documents/MuseScore4/Templates .
Then i started Musescore, create new Score, based on template.
Under "my templates" then the file i moved is shown .
I select it and the Musescore crashes.
I am on MacOS Big Slur, attached is the file that i used.

Same issue here - every time I try to create a new score from a custom template, MS4 crashes. I've tried several times and the same thing happens every time.
Can you share your template?
I can confirm the crash with the template from the initial post, even in a 4.0.2 pre-release.
It does not happen with every user template though.

Unless it is covered by https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/15313, i.e. if the template contains instrument changes (the score from the initial post apparently does not, so should get reported on GitHub)
Here's the template I used. It contains several mid-staff instrument changes.
Hmm, that's a huge score, not really a template. But yes, it does crash MuseScore when used as a template.
