"A" letter key not working.

When I press the "A" key on my keyboard to plot the note in MuseScore 4, the software acts like I'm pressing the TAB key, and doesn't plot the note, but starts moving the highlighter round to different commands - first to the "workspace" field at the bottom right, then Home, then the pencil tool.
Anyone else with this problem?
