Highlight a beat in a staff and press Ctrl-K to add chords
Hold down Ctrl and press 1 - 7.
Expected behaviour is that the cursor moves by the appropriate duration.
Actual behaviour is that the number pressed is entered into the text box.

It's closed because the issue is fixed. The problem is that other problems now exist. There are already open issues for them, such as https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/15719.
So it'll be fixed in 4.1
Yes, that seems most likely - unless they end up reverting the PR that fixes it because of the other problems it causes (Ctrl+Lef/Right not working at all), or how it affects the feasibility of fixing other issues (e.g, Ctrl+I/Ctrl+B not doing italic/bold). I'm hopeful that they'll find a solution that works well across the board, but it's not there yet, and it may well be they wind up breaking more eggs before the omelette is done...
