MS4 grace note help
I've run across a situation regarding grace notes. I can't seem to figure out how to add the grace notes in the first measure. I am not saying I don't know how grace notes are added, I have added notes like this before. I'm just having a brain freeze. Would you add these in a 3rd voice?

No. There are only 2 voices there.
What part if the process is causing difficulty?
One thing that users sometimes don't immediately realise is that you can click on the grace note in the pallet twice to add two grace notes to the same main note as you have in the first measure of your example.

The count is causing me difficulties, I think. In voice 1 there are 4 counts and the grace notes seem to add to this. For some reason I'm stuck...LOL

"In voice 1 there are 4 counts and the grace notes seem to add to this."
Grace notes do not add to the measure's duration, so the duration in your case remains as 4 beats (common time). And as SteveBlower pointed out, you can add more then one grace note to the main note.

Okay, I believe I understand now. I was confused a little by the "parent note." In my score it could be the B-flat ahead of the grace notes or it could be the A eigth note, it doesn't really matter does it?

Well, these "before" and "after" grace notes do implement the playback differently. Listen to the attached score, and then decide what effect you are looking for.

Thank you for explaining the difference in this way. It was very helpful.

If they are adding to the count then you are not adding grace notes. Grace notes are found in the grace note palette. If you are using MU 4 you may need to click in the Add Palette button to make it visible.
