Metronome question

• Mar 5, 2023 - 09:51

Greetings,

My configuration is:
OS: macOS 13.1, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.1-230121751

My question is:
I have a score with the 4/4 time signature.
When I turn on the metronome it provides 4 clicks per a measure.
I would like the metronome to provide 8 clicks per a measure keeping the time signature is 4/4.

Does MuseScore have this feature?

Thank you
Victor

Probably not. (I don't use MS4, so I'm not sure if everything is so possible there).
But you can, for example, add a wood block system, add one or more measures at the beginning and write the metronome replacement there.
(In 3.6.2 you can hide this staff and still hear it.)

Not sure I understand : adding the wood block staff is precisely to avoid to change the signature to 8/8
You are supposed to enter metronome sound on the wood block staff using whatever rhythm you want, keeping 4/4
If you decide to change to 8/8 anyway, then you don't need a wood block staff the "natural" metrnome sound will do the job

Yes, I can do it.
But in MuseScore 4, when I hide the wood block instrument, the staff disappears and the sound of wood block disappears.
If I hide wood block measures one by one, the sound of wood block remains, but the wood block instrument remains in score.
