How can I make a multi-movement score in the same file?
How can I make a multi-movement score in the same file? I finished the first movement, and now I want to make a second movement in the same file: I don't want it to be a whole new file. What should I do?

Use a section break and a vertical frame
... and better still, read and learn this Handbook page:

It looks like one must do this before writing the piece, yes? In other words, if I have 4 different files that I want to stitch together into a single work, there is not easy way to do this after the fact, yes?
And the section breaks appear not to reset instruments. That is, if I use the contrabassoon in the 3rd movement only, I still have to add it at the beginning of the score, and hide it for 2 movements?

I would suggest doing the four separate files. Then, you can export them as PDFs, and join them into one file in a PDF editor.
