Keeps crashing

Hi. I've used this as an app for years, and now I'm using it on my laptop so I can transcribe my own music. But, it keeps crashing. I've got the most recent update. It worked perfectly when I used it a few days ago, but using it tonight has been incredibly frustrating. I've had to do a lot of work, but I've had to re-do music over and over again, because it suddenly crashes and closes the program. There's no warning. It doesn't freeze or anything. I'm working and suddenly I'm looking at my desktop because my project is gone.
