Playback completely bugged, urgently asking for help

• Apr 20, 2024 - 18:57

So this has been going on for about a month now. At some point, the playback on MuseScore 4 began completely bugging out seemingly without reason, and is now stuck in this state. The pitches are octaves too high and jittery, the tempo is done all wrong, and there's nothing that I've been able to do to fix it - tried replacing soundfonts, trying different scores, tried messing with the mixer, I even reset my MuseScore 4 app completely. No change.

As videos aren't supported attachments, I've included a google drive link which has the video available to watch, with audio.

It seems that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, as someone made a post reporting the same problem today.

The last post I made about this issue gathered virtually no support, so this time I'm asking desperately, please help me out. I rely on this for my work and my passion, and I don't want to look for alternate notation software because this one has become faulty. Thank you so much!

Thank you very much! I discovered that the issue was not with the app itself, but some of the audio settings on my computer. I recently downloaded SteelSeries GG for advanced audio capture settings to voice act, but i wasn't aware that it had changed the audio output settings as well, putting it through its "gaming filter", completely wrecking the playback. All I had to do was change audio output back to default, and boom, fixed. Thank you so much!
